PSM Racing Line unlucky in HUNGARY1

PSM Racing line had a frustrated and busy weekend in Hungary for round 10 of the FIA Formula 3000 Championship. Nicolas Kiesa's race ended before it started with a misfire on the parade lap whilst Tony Schmidt was suffering from his dramatic accident in qualifying.

The first qualifying session saw Nicolas placed in a sensational 9th position, this was impressive as this was the first time he had driven the Hungarian circuit.

However Tony was not so lucky, exiting the quick right hander the car rode the kerb and launch the PSM car in to the barrier at high speed. Tony was lucky to escape without injury however the car was badly damaged.Nicolas was looking forward to the race as he felt he had a good set up, however this was not be, during the parade lap the car developed a miss fire, the PSM Racing line mechanics along with Zytec change every component possible however the car was pushed off the starting grid and a frustrated Nicolas had to watch the race from the pit lane, it was latter discovered that it was a crank shaft sensor that had failed.

With a rebuilt car Tony made a good start but had to pit on the second lap due to handling problem caused from the previous day accident, once fixed Tony rejoined the race, although out of contention Tony drove to the finish to gain the experience. The team is now looking forward to better luck in Spa on the 31 August.
