Hungarian Grand Prix confirms himself as a favourable race for Coloni Motorsport: the Italian team placed both his drivers in the top positions in the starting grid of a race which looks very promising for Zsolt Baumgartner and Ricardo Sperafico.

Baumgartner began the day on board of Jordan Grand Prix's F1 single-seater, carrying out the Friday morning test: the Hungarian was fundamental for the Eddie Jordan's team, having supplied precious information about the choice of tyres to use in qualifying and then in race. Driven by his numerous supporters, Zsolt was then among the front runners of F.I.A. F3000 qualifying: unfortunately the traffic he met doesn't allow him to exploit his news set of tyres and so he couldn't take front row, even though for a few tenths.

Saturday Zsolt will start form ninth position, but the indications given by free practice and qualifying are really good and the whole team is confident for the race.

Ricardo Sperafico had the same problem as Baumgartner: traffic. His Lola was one of the fastest and more competitive single-seaters during the free practice and Ricardo would have easily earned the front row if he had had a clear track ahead of him when running with new tyres.

Sperafico took the sixth place and the recent Hockenheim-winner will be able to aim at a good result, also because the pit stops strategy decided by the team will be fundamental.

For that reason, Coloni Motorsport simulated again pit stops during the free practice with his drivers and mechanics and the outcomes were very positives.

Zsolt Baumgartner, 9th - 1.36.881 "I'm very happy, this morning with Jordan I set really good times, I was faster than my team-mate and I could help significantly the team. In the afternoon Coloni's Lola was very competitive, unluckily I met a lot of traffic and I couldn't exploit the new set of tyres. I', confident for tomorrow, it will be quite an interesting race due to the compulsory pit stops. Besides, racing in Hungary for me is a unique experience".

Ricardo Sperafico, 6th - 1.36.655 "I'm quite satisfied with this result, the car was good and, if I hadn't met traffic, I would have for sure taken the front row. I'm sure we will able to get a good result here".

Paolo Coloni, Team Principal "We are satisfied with drivers and car performances, constant and quick both in the free practice and qualifying. Ricardo and Zsolt did a good job, but they met a lot of traffic and so they couldn't use well their new tyres. This event prevented them from taking the front row, also because today all the drivers are really close. However, tomorrow the race will be decided by strategies too: it will be essential both the choice of the right moment for the stop and a quick tyres change. The simulations we completed today gave excellent results and so we are confident in sight of the race".
