First points for Zsolt Baumgartner with Coloni Motorsport in Barcelona!

For the second time Zsolt Baumgartner had to redeem himself in race after difficult qualifying and for the second time the Hungary's sprout did it: on Barcelona track in fact, Zsolt conquered a good seventh place, that allowed him to take the first precious points, rising trough the drivers standings.

Started from behind, Zsolt --after a difficult start- began immediately to push to the maximum to catch up and the results came quickly: he finished in fact seventh, after an exalting fight with Schmidt and Nguyen. On the last lap, when Zsolt was in head-to-head competition with Nguyen, the dirt asphalt betrayed the Hungarian who had then to leave the sixth place to Schmidt. However, Zsolt showed all his skills as a real fighter on track!

Non positive balance for Ricardo Sperafico and for one of the Red Bull Junior Team drivers, Patrick Friesacher, technically supported by Coloni Motorsport. The continuous engine problems dramatically altered the performances of their cars, forcing them to results inferior to the ones that allowed to dominate the winter tests and the last pre-season test in Barcelona with a large advantage. Sperafico in fact, after a good race beginning, saw his car losing considerably competitiveness, until he was forced to retire.

Coloni Motorsport will be at work this week to prepare to the best the next race and to solve as soon as possible the troubles of Barcelona.

Paolo Coloni, Team Principal:

"An undeniably non positive weekend; we arrived here very confident after the 2002 victory, the pre-season tests and the last F.I.A. test dominated with a large advantage. We are disbelieving in front of these results and we will work on all fronts to solve the Barcelona troubles, asking our Suppliers, especially Zytek, the maximum technical support in order to ensure to our drivers and Coloni Motorsport to express all their potential".

Zsolt Baumgartner, driver, 7th:

"I made a good race, but I knew that this will be hard, having made some mistakes in qualifying. I was a bit unlucky on the start but then I began to lap very quickly, always really close to Schmidt and Nguyen. I think it was a beautiful race even if difficult, in the last 20 laps --as happened in Imola- I had always to attack and it's not easy, you've to be very concentrated and you can't made the smallest mistake".
