CHICAGO, IL --- G. Garvin Brown, Chairman, Active Worldwide Sports LLC, organizers and owners of the United States Formula Three Championship Powered By Volkswagen, announced the first three (3) dates of the inaugural Year 2000 United States Formula Three Championship Powered by Volkswagen race season:

September 22nd at Indianapolis Raceway Park near Indianapolis (Oval -- Championship Race)

October 28th at Irwindale Speedway near Los Angeles (Oval -- Championship Race)

November 12th at Aruba (Roadcourse -- Non-championship Race)

"Our schedule is based on three (3) segments: the championship road races, the championship oval races and non-championship road race. This announcement satisfies the latter two segments", said Brown. "The championship road race schedule will be announced in association with the SCCA and its Trans-Am Series very soon."

"Part of our concept is to be a big fish in a smaller pond", said Thomas M. Duddy, Vice Chairman, Active Worldwide Sports LLC. "These three race events allow us to share main stage."

The two championship oval races will be held on short track speedways. The Indianapolis Raceway Park event will showcase USF3 during the United States Grand Prix Formula One race weekend. The Irwindale Speedway race will showcase USF3 the night prior to the 500-mile CART race event. At Fontana.

"Aruba will be USF3's Macau", continued Brown. "It will be a phenomenal way to end the season. It's non-championship status will afford international competition to take on the best in our series using Volkswagen power.

All races in the United States Formula Three Championship Powered By Volkswagen will be 100-kilometers in length. All races will be sanctioned by SCCA Pro Racing.

Brown concluded that he expects the USF3 Championship season to begin in May. "We have options to begin earlier, however we want all the teams to have the opportunity to test and be ready for the first event. May is perfect to begin."
