Convincing statistics for Borja Garcia!

Together with Racing Engineering, Borja Garcia has set new standards in the Spanish Formula 3 Championship. During the 2004 season words were not always enough to describe the outstanding performance and dominance of the young driver from Valencia. But the numbers are definitely more than convincing.

In the sixteen races held so far, Borja has crossed the finish line in first place in nine of them. His championship rival Giao can so far just look back at three wins.

Borja also scored precious points by setting the fastest lap times in seven races. Giao on the other hand marked three fastest lap times during the races.

Of course Borja's wins had a very important foundation -- his perfect work during Saturday qualifying sessions. Borja can look back at seven pole positions so far, whereas Giao started a race from the first position on the grid on three occasions.

Given these great results and with just one more, "all-deciding" race weekend to come, Borja is definitely the favorite on paper for the title of 2005 Spanish Formula 3 Champion. At the moment Borja leads the championship eight points ahead of his competitor Giao, but does not regard the last meeting as an easy one, stating, "You never know what happens during a race weekend and the championship finishes once the car crosses the finish line at the last race. Of course, I have good chances and my double wins during the last three race weekends make me confident, but there are many factors that can influence a race weekend. Nevertheless I go to Barcelona, like to any other race meeting this year, with the objective to win races."
