British racing driver Alexander Sims will next month compete in one of the world’s most famous and prestigious street races; the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix.

Sims will be racing with ThreeBond with T-Sport, driving the team’s Nissan-engine Dallara which he drove to victory at the F3 Euroseries race at the Nurburgring in August.

Sims was invited by ThreeBond with T-Sport to compete as a guest driver in the fifth round of the F3 Euroseries Championship, which also allowed the British driver to qualify for an entry at Macau. Sims qualified for Macau in style, storming to a win and taking the fastest lap of the race.

The British driver has worked with ThreeBond with T-Sport in the past as a test driver and coach, and with four years experience of racing F3 cars is targeting a win at Macau with the British team.

Sims and ThreeBond with T-Sport have just completed a successful test at Donington where they were able to test a number of wet and dry weather set ups ahead of Macau.

Next week Sims heads to Silverstone for a final shakedown of the car ahead of the race on the 18th November.

“I’m looking forward to racing at Macau again. It’s a pretty cool track to race at, it’s one of the races on the list that every driver wants to win.

It’s great to be driving with the ThreeBond with T-Sport team who are very experienced in F3 racing, and it’s nice that I will be reunited with my race engineer who I worked with at Macau four years ago;” commented Alexander Sims.

“It’s a very strong field that have entered this year’s race, probably the most competitive that has been seen at Macau for a very long time, but we go there with the belief that we can challenge for the win.

It’s always a tough race and a strong qualifying position is very important so we will be pushing hard throughout the weekend to be consistently at the front;” continued Alexander Sims.

"This has been a great opportunity for ThreeBond with T-Sport to put together an exciting package for this season’s 2012 Macau Grand Prix.

The team have chosen Alexander Sims to drive our Three Bond Formula 3 car and he has already impressed us with his ability and speed in the test sessionsleading up to the Macau event.

I believe that with the Macau circuit experience that Alexander is able to bring to the team, coupled with the Tomei Nissan engine package, we are in great shape to be able to arrive in Macau ready to attack the event and succeed in our goal of achieving a great result;" commented Alan Woodhead, Chief Engineer, ThreeBond with T-Sport

Qualifying for the Macau Formula Three Grand Prix takes place on Thursday 15th and Friday 16th November, with the qualifying race on Saturday 17th November and the main race starting at 1530 (local time) on Sunday 18th November.
