The young Monegasque Kevin Nadin, 20 years old, who competed in the French F3 championship in 2002 was due to test with Arden in Barcelona on November 21st and 22nd.
Because of adverse weather the tests were rescheduled for Jerez on November 29th and 30th.
On the first day, Kevin completed 19 laps with old tyres. The first run enabled him to become accustomed to the car and the track, both of which were entirely new to him.
"I was very quickly on the pace and could immediately achieve some respectable lap times "
The next morning on new tyres, Kevin achieved good lap times very close to those at the top of the time sheets.
Christian Horner, team owner said "Kevin did a very professional job with no mistakes. He was placed in a situation with a very steep learning curve, having to learn a track, car and team in a short space of time and he coped very well".
Kevin showed an ability to progress quickly, improving his lap times on each new run. The test gave him the opportunity to demonstrate his fitness and professional approach and having performed well on track, his quality feedback was appreciated by engineers.
Kevin said "I would like to thank Christian Horner for his confidence in me and for giving me the opportunity to drive the Champion's car ". I also want to thank David Coulthard Associates, who organised the tests and helped me to prepare for them in the best conditions. Thanks also to Jacques, my trainer who made me physically ready".
Kevin is currently reviewing his options for the 2003 season and is looking toward a drive in International or European F3000.
