F.3 Fiat engine launched at Motor Show

Stylish launch yesterday for the new Fiat engine that will be employed for the next triennium on Formula 3 Italian Championship single seaters.

The spectacular stand of the Torino-based brand at the Bologna Motor Show has been the frame of the official presentation of the engine held by the Engineer Paolo Martinelli, vice-president of Fiat Power Train and ex responsible of Ferrari engines in Formula One.

The 2 liters engine, developed by FPT - Fiat Power Train technologies on the Abarth S2000 base, is capable of 220 HP at 7000 revs and has a maximum torque of 236Nm at 5750 revs. Two contract options will be available to teams: purchase at 38.500 euros (airbox, clutch, silencer and electronics included) or annual rent at 16.000 euros (comprehensive of control unit and injectors wiring).

First delivers are awaited for the next few weeks, while a collective test with a car lined up by every team is going to be held within February.
