Lucidi Motors triumphing at Monza
Francesco Castellacci, after an accident in race one, confirms his performances with the second place of race two. Facundo Crovo, the new driver of BVM Target, stand on the third place of the podium.
Gabriele Lucidi (Lucidi Motors, Team Manager):
'What an amazing weekend! Mirko Bortolotti's performances were good: he managed to have to perfect starts that allowed him to win both races. We had some problems with Giovanni Nava, that after a contact with Niko Verdonck, saw his chances to get important points vanished. I am satisfied by Francesco Castellacci, author of the two pole positions: in race two he got on the second place of the podium. Shame for race one whereby he was forced to the retirement due to a small error.'
Moreno Leonardi (Europa Corse, Team Manager):
'A satisfactory week-end, especially in race two due to the fourth place of Gatto. That's not what we expected but we saw that the gap with Team Ghinzani, compared with that on other races, is decreasing.'
The abstinence of Lucidi Motors, that did not score any victory so far in this championship, finished in the best way today at Monza.
Bortolotti (Lucidi Motors) ruled race one. He started from the second place of the grid and managed to get the first victory of the season. On the podium Edoardo Piscopo (Team Ghinzani) and Salvatore Cicatelli (BVM - TARGET).
Francesco Castellacci (Lucidi Motors), started from the first position, made a little mistake that forced him to the retirement. Niko Verdonk (RP Motorsport), Alessandro Cicognani (Team Ghinzani) and Francesco Prandi (Europa Corse) did not conclude the race either.
Mirko Bortolotti was absolutely the leader of race two as well, and this brings the gap from Edoardo Piscopo, retired today due to a contact, down to nine points.
