Magione: double victory of Piscopo after the red flag

Giovanni Nava:

"I could have possibly done a few tenths better in qualifying yesterday, but fortunately I managed to overtake Ciccareli and get the third place. This is my first podium in Formula 3 and, after the good performance at Mugello, it gives me some more enthusiasm to continue this new experience."

Salvatore Cicatelli:

"In the first stages of the race I lost a position to Nava and in a few laps I understood that it would have been very difficult to get it back. I focused on not committing any mistakes in such a way to finish the race close to the podium, a result that I reckon is positive anyway."

Giulio Glorioso:

"I raced with a bandaging on my right hand, painful for many days now, that created to me some difficulties in handling the steering wheel. The car was very well balanced and certainly better than yesterday. These two points are a rewarding conclusion of my weekend."

Nicolò Piancastelli:

"Before this weekend I just had a single test, last winter, with a Formula 3, this is the reason why the point obtained today has a special flavour. I am really happy, to me this is a small victory. I would like to thank all members of the Team Corbetta by Minardi for the job done in these days."

Francesco Castellacci:

"My race has been conditioned since the formation lap by some electrical problems that caused several time the switching off of the engine. I lost a lot of positions in the formation lap but I managed anyway to get to the grid. Alas, even at the getaway something did not work properly and I have been involved in an accident that put off other drivers too."

Angelo Fabrizio Comi:

"I am sorry for what happened to Tramontozzi. With the victory very close I concentrated on concluding the race without impeding the race of the Italian Chamopionship drivers. The lap times showed an equilibrium between my opponent and myself.: I think it is going to be a good fight till the last race."

The weekend of Magione ends with the fourth victory in four races of Edoardo Piscopo, author of the fastest lap of the race as well. At the start, Dalle Stelle, Castellacci, Tramontozzi and Cicognani have been involved, fortunately without physical consequences, in an accident that forced stewards to stop the race at the middle of the first lap, with Bortolotti at the lead after a good start.

Among cars involved in the accident, only Cicognani managed to start again in a race that did not show any other twists until the chequered flag.

Edoardo Piscopo:

"The weekend finished in the best way. I got all the points after four races: this is a favourable period that allows us to store precious points for the championship but the season is still long and we will have to work a lot to keep our leadership until the end."

Mirko Bortolotti:

"The red flag unfortunately put me off from a good chance of victory. In the first start I managed to overtake Piscopo. In a circuit like Magione it would have relatively easy to keep the head. At the second start instead I lost some meters in the shift for the second gear and at that point it was impossible to try to overtake at the first corner. My race pace afterwards was practically equal to that of the leader but without any mistakes from him it was impossible to attempt an attack."
