VALLELUNGA: SERGIO CAMPANA AWARDS THE FIFTH VICTORY OF THE SEASON TO TEAM LUCIDI MOTORS
Positive outcome for team Lucidi Motors at the end of the weekend of Vallelunga, sixth round of the Italian Formula 3 2010 Championship.
The driver from Monaco Stephane Richelmi, author of the third time in qualifying (1'30.627) , kept the starting position up to the chequered flag of race one. In the second race, conditioned by the grid inversion, he harvested a very useful sixth place for the championship.
Sergio Campana, fifth in qualifying (1'30.826), has been forced to the retirement in the initial stages of the race due to a contact with a rival. The driver from Modena, counter-charged in race two whereby he got the lead at the beginning and kept it until the chequered flag, obtaining in this way the first victory of his season.
Giammarco Raimondo lived a bitter-sweet weekend too, he was involved in the accident during lap one of the first race, but has also been author of a good performance in race two that took him to the final tenth absolute place, second among the rookies.
Richelmi is now second in the classification at 116 points, 14 clear of the leader. Campana is sixth with 68 points, while Raimondo is fourth of the rookies at 93.
Gabriele Lucidi (Team Manager):
"The weekend has been positive for all our three drivers: Campana has constantly been among the fastest and deserved to come back to victory; Richelmi confirmed to be one of the main title contenders and next round at Mugello will probably be crucial for him. Raimondo continues to be protagonist among the rookies instead".
The Italian Formula 3 Championship will be on track again next 10 October at Mugello.
