First points for Cicatelli and Cinti at Magione

After the steep season opener held a month ago at Adria, first positive signals for Corbetta Competizioni arrived at Magione in the second round of the Italian Formula 3 championship. Since qualifying Cinti and Cicatelli kept the gap from the pole position within a second, finishing the session with the ninth and tenth times. A result that still is far from team's objectives but that shows an improvement to what seen in Adria's qualifying.

Race one did not award any twists, also due to the track layout. Both drivers raced with intelligence without taking useless risks and the eighth final place of Cinti and the ninth of Cicatelli gave the team the first points of the season.

Race two has been conditioned since the beginning by an uncertain weather with intermitting rain wetting the Umbrian track. The choice to stay on track with slick tyres revealed to be the correct one and took Cicatelli up to the fifth final place under the chequered flag, while Cinti concluded seventh.

"Despite being held in particular conditions, race two gave us some positive feedback on the work we have done in these weeks. Just to use a metaphor, we are not yet out of the tunnel but we are starting to see the light; Cicatelli got some points in both maches and in race two he got closer to the podium, while Cinti made his debut in Formula 3 without mistakes. I think we are working in the right direction: it is not easy to recover in the heat of the race but we are trying and at Mugello we count on a further step forward".
