Jason Watt (Denmark) crashed during a promotional photo session in Copenhagen on October 13th. He suffered spine and chest injuries. The chest injury was so massive, that it was necessary to treat it first, in order to save his life. Due to complications, the doctors could not attend to the spinal injuries, and were unsure to what extent his ability to move would be affected. He was placed in a medically induced coma which was maintained until doctors woke him on October 20th. Examination revealed that his spine was torn at the seventh thoracic vertebra, and that he has lost permanent use of his legs and will no longer be able to race.
