November 16th '03 - Coloni Motorsport continues the preparation job in sight of season 2004 of Formula 3: the Italian team has carried out on Saturday at Magione a test with Marko Asmer, test driver of BMW-WilliamsF1 team.
Marko Asmer (19 years), young talent from the Estonia, this year has begun his career in single-seater racing in the British Championship of Formula Ford, but he has already completed some tests with the prestigious F1 team led by Frank Williams.
The Estonian driver has begun to lap in Magione under the heavy rain that unfortunately has hindered the day of test, but adverse weather conditions and a very slippery track do not have however prevented him from quickly getting confident with the F106 of the Coloni Motorsport.
Asmer has completed about 40 laps with Avon rain tyres and - even if he didn't know Magione- he set immediately excellent times, which fully satisfied both Marko and the whole Coloni Motorsport.
The next appointment for Coloni Motorsport is the official test of Formula 3000 International F.I.A. to Monza, scheduled on November Tuesday 18 and Wednesday 19.
Paolo Coloni, Tem Principal : "It was a great test that --in spite of bad weather conditions- clearly showed the talent of Marko and his excellent driving skills. We are very happy with the times set and we hope to test soon with dry track too and to work with Marko for our next plans".
