Carlin's Seaside diversion
Zandvoort (Netherlands) 6 August 2006.

Oliver Jarvis Race P8
"It's been an enjoyable weekend to come and experience the Zandvoort Masters for the first time. I'm a little bit disappointed to have finished up 8th overall but there are a lot of positives to take away, such as that I'm one of the highest or maybe even the highest placed first year driver. With such limited testing it's a hard place to learn so I'm fairly pleased with the result. Of course I wanted to win but the overall pace was not quite there at the end of the day. If the opportunity arises for me to return next year I feel I could be on the podium or maybe I could even win the race."

Maro Engel Race P15
"We came here with high expectations but since I had less experience around this circuit and driving on Kumho tyres compared to most of the other drivers here today, I feel we didn't have much of a chance to do as well as we would have liked. I made a good start but as you have to brake after only 100 meters for the first corner my race was pretty much decided then and I just had to settle down and drive my own race with no real chance of making up positions. All in all I feel it was a disappointing weekend, especially in comparison with my previous week-end in Spa.."

Christian Bakkerud Race P16
"It's been an up and down weekend for me. I didn't really have the pace at the beginning of the weekend but we made some developments to the car that we thought would be good for the second qualifying but then I had a bit of a miss-happening with one of the other drivers who I guess didn't see me in the mirrors who put me off the track. As a result, my qualifying was severely compromised. Today I made a good start and made up some of the positions I had lost in the second qualifying but the race itself was very monotonous as it's difficult to overtake here."

Mario Moraes Race P30
"The competition here at Zandvoort is very difficult and the tyres very different to the Avons on which I raced last weekend at Spa. I am still learning and I have enjoyed this weekend and it has been a really good experience for me."

Team Principal Trevor Carlin
"I'm pleased with everyone's job this weekend although we would have liked to have seen our drivers a bit further up the result sheet. Oliver did a superb job to end up 8th and best rookie here today and perhaps if he had got past Bruno (Senna) he would have been able to catch up to Sebastian (Vettel) and the other cars in-front as we feel he was slightly quicker here today than Bruno. Maro and especially Christian made good starts and made up positions but as it's a difficult circuit to pass they more or less settled down into the positions in which they completed the first and made up a few only when cars in-front fell off. For our new driver Mario, this weekend has been a steep learning curve. It's certainly not an easy track and with different tyres than he is used to, I think he did well to make up positions in the beginning. We now have only a week to prepare for the next British F3 race at Silverstone and the team is on their way home as I speak with our focus now switching to the testing and preparations for Silverstone."
