Young South Australian motorsport hopeful Tim Slade had his first ever drive in a F3 Dallara at Malalla circuit yesterday Thursday September 9, in a test prior to his first ever F3 race in the Seventh round of the Australian F3 Championship to be held at Malalla next weekend, September 17- 19.
Tim hopes this event will attract the attention of backers to support his efforts to become a professionaldriver and to launch him on a career in International Motorsport.
If his test day is anything to go by Tim has certainly got the attention of the Motorsport community.
Team BRM Owner Bronte Rundle was highly impressed with the test, stating "Tim's natural talent was not only displayed by his very fast times on the track, running under the unofficial lap record, but it was verified by the data , I think we have in Tim a young South Australian driver with all the attributes to become a champion."
Manager and Mentor Terry Little, "The test has vindicated the faith that I have in Tim, I have watched him race in very ordinary equipment in Formula Ford and knew that he had the talent and also the desire, he just needed the support, this successful test has shown that given good equipment and a good team South Australia has a champion in the making with the potential to go all the way."
Little also stated that Tim's dedication to raise the money to fund this test is also a testament to his desire to succeed, "He has been door knocking friends and business's to put the money together and has also started his own wine label selling McLaren Vale wines to support his efforts. At only 18 he is a young man with the talent, desire and dedication to achieve his dream and I call on the Motorsport and Business community's in South Australia to get behind him, he will do you proud."
If you want to see a champion in the making get out to Malalla on Sunday September 19, and make sure that you make yourself known to Tim, you find him in the Team BRM pits.
