The Australian Formula 3 Championship got underway today with the opening practice sessions of round one being run around the formidable Adelaide Street Circuit. The track, which makes use of the city streets around the Adelaide parklands, was, as expected dry and dusty. Both sessions were run under clear skies which are expected to continue for the remainder of the weekend.

Team BRM took it cautiously in the opening two sessions, choosing to use them as a sighting sessions, allowing our drivers to settle into their cars and learn the track. This was particularly important for the Team's newest signing, Marcus Marshall. Marshall stepped into the AEG Power Tools Dallara F301 Spiess Opel for the first time yesterday during a test session at Mallala, north of Adelaide and was instantly impressive.

One of the Championship favourites, Karl Reindler, UTS Geophysics Dallara F301 Spiess Opel, in his second year with Team BRM in the Australian Formula 3 Championship, used the sessions to set the car up to his liking in preparation for tomorrow's qualifying sessions.

Craig Rundle is running the Team's Dallara F398 Spiess Opel for this round. Team BRM's regular driver, young New Zealander, Nic Jordan was unable to race this weekend and will make his debut for the Team at the Oran Park round April 18 -- 20.

The Team will now work towards preparing the cars for tomorrow's two qualifying sessions.
