Top ten result for Zeta Corse on practice day

The famed Paul Ricard circuit in Le Castellet, where the F.Renault 3.5 championship is holding the 8th round of the season, has given Zeta Corse a warm welcome. Under clear skies and a warm September sun, the Italian team enjoyed a positive day of running and ended the Practice session in the top ten with both their cars. The morning session was hard work for the team managed by Claudio Corradini: while Carlos Sainz Jr. struggled in finding a clear lap and closed the session in P18, Will Buller lost some valuable track time due to a technical issue and finished further back in P23. Free Practice 2, anyway, was a completely different story: finally free from traffic Sainz improved his sectors and clocked a 1'48"683 that was worth P7, while Buller lapped consistently and rounded up the top ten with a 1'48"762. The team is now ready for qualifying, scheduled for tomorrow morning at 8.55 AM, then followed by the start of Race 1 at 1.35 PM.

Carlos Sainz: FP1 - P18; FP2 – P7

“The most positive aspect of today is that we've been in an improving trend. In the morning finding a clear lap was impossible, but apart from that the car didn't feel as quick and balanced as I expected. We changed our setup a bit for the afternoon and suddenly it was much better, allowing me to push harder and post better laptimes. We're heading in the right direction, so we should be competitive tomorrow".

Will Buller: FP1 – P23; FP2 - P10

 “In the morning I lost some track time due to a throttle issue and it was quite a pity, because that meant that in the afternoon session I had some ground to recover compared to my rivals. That said, the car felt really good in FP2, and I believe that there is still room for improvement on new rubber. If I'm right we should be really quick in Qualifying, so I'm looking forward to it".
