FIRST RETIREMENT OF THE YEAR AT SPA

Pippa Mann was forced to retire from the second race at Spa-Francorchamps when her engine suffered a failure as she arrived on her marks for the pitstop. Having struggled in Race One with handling issues sustained in an incident, Mann was no more fortunate in Sunday's Race, and had to watch lap six onwards from the garage.

Team Director Roly Vincini commented: "Pippa had a difficult weekend - yesterday her car collected some debris on the first lap and this made her race very tough. Today - we'll have to have a look at the data and see what happened. The engine stalled as the car went up on the front jack, and from some reason it wouldn't re-start in first gear."

A disappointed Mann said, "I never really felt we had everything right here this weekend, so I need to go away and have a look at the telemetry and find out where I can make up the difference. I've had a frustrating couple of days but it's all part of the job unfortunately, and I just have to move on. I'm really pleased for the team though, as they managed to take another victory with Giedo (van der Garde) in the second race - a great result for P1."

Mann will be back in action on 24th/25th of May at the Monaco Grand Prix weekend, as the World Series by Renault 3.5 is the support series for the FIA Formula One World Championship.
