QUALIFYNG: POLE POSITION IN RACE 1 FOR BERTRAND BAGUETTE

Qualifyng for the first races in the World Series Renault Championship in Monza were held in the afternoon of Friday,25 April, without the application of Super Pole, the new formula to determine the starting grid of two races, due to the concomitance with the Le Mans Series. The drivers were divided into 2 groups and the group B, as usually happens thanks to track cleaner, was faster. The first four drivers of the groups A and B are started to the invert positions in the race of Saturday, while they maintained their original locations in the race of Sunday.

Very good result for Bertrand Baguette, the Draco Driver that he arrived 4 in the faster group, he has ensured the position of Poleman and he is started from the first position in the starting grid. Marco Barba, arrived 6 in Group A, he started instead from the sixth row. Group A

RACE 1

The bad luck is on Bertrand Baguette and Team Draco. The Belgian driver really believed in the victory after a perfect start in Pole Position, he had all the cards to climb on the top of the podium. After the duel with Pic, in which the driver of Draco had the better, Baguette has noticed that the gears did not meet more commands and, after one stop in the pit lane and the hope for a recovery, unfortunately the Belgian had to surrender to reality: breaking to the hydraulic actuator. This is a small mechanism that, as said Andrea Tesi, Cheef Engineering Draco Team, it is essential for entering gears.

Great bitterness for the non-victory, but also a firm guarantee for good conditions of the very fast and competitive cars. Good race for Marco Barba, the Spanish rookie in his first competition in the World Series by Renault Championship. Barba started from the sixth row and he made time like a champion, as he had promised during the winter tests. The out-track not allowed him to climb the classification, arriving 12 to the chequered flag, but a good start for the rookie. Now the Team expects race 2 tomorrow morning.

Bertrand Baguette, Draco Driver:

"With the pole and the good start, I hoped really in victory. But during the race I realized that the gears did not meet the commands and after I realized that I could not do anything. Unfortunately my race was compromised, but I hope to be able to take a revenge tomorrow. "

Marco Barba, Draco Driver:

"It could go better, but it is my first race and I do not want to complain. I hoped in a 6or 7 place, but the I went out of track and I lost some position and finally I arrived 12. However the car is fast and my times are good. We will see what it will happen in race 2. "

Nadia Morini, Team Manager Draco:

"We are very displeased for the rupture of Baguette, certainly we could not calculate it, seen this is a piece that would normally be no problem. Unfortunately we had bad luck this time, but we don't worry because the cars and the drivers are on top. "
