JAMES WALKER COMPLETES FINAL PREPARATIONS

Oxford, UK - 29 March 2007: James Walker has just completed a two-day test at the Nurburgring in Germany which wraps up the winter test programme for the World Series by Renault teams. The test took place in sunny but cold conditions in the Eifel Mountains.

On day one James concentrated on altering the car set-up whilst running on old tyres. They clearly got the balance right as James showed at the end of the day when the team bolted on a fresh set of rubber and he posted the fourth fastest time before calling it a day. The only other driver to go faster after that was Sebastian Vettel so James was satisfied to record the fifth quickest time overall out of the 30 runners.

The World Series by Renault will race at the Nurburgring in early May so James and the Fortec team took the opportunity on the second day to try some more drastic set-up changes to suit that track. This will save precious practice time when the teams arrive in Germany to race.

At the end of day two James declared himself content with the test. "We were limited to 130 laps for this test - so we can start the season with a brand new engine -- but we made good use of the time we had. Last time I came here I won the race (in Formula 3) so I have good memories of the Nurburgring and hope to make some more when we come back!"

The next time the young Jersey driver will be out on track is at Monza in Italy in two weeks time for the first race of the season.
