Marciello drops to ninth place, Maisano goes third Maranello, 3 July 2010 -- It was an unlucky day for Raffaele Marciello (JD Motorsport) as he had to relinquish the pole position he took at Imola today in the Formula ACI-CSAI Abarth series. The Ferrari Driver Academy student was put back to ninth place and pole for Race 1 was handed to Riccardo Agostini (Team Prema) who got the benefit of a decision taken by the race directors.

The Stewards changed the classification as the yellow flags came out during qualifying and it had been established in a meeting on Friday, that in this situation no driver should improve his lap time. Therefore, 14.09 was established as the time after which no improvement could be made and the order was thus set as of this time. However, the stewards decision did improve matters for the other Ferrari Driver Academy driver, as Brandon Maisano (BVM/Target) finds himself moved up to third. Marciello, again as per the rules, will not be able to benefit from the inversion of the grid for Race 2, which sees Edoardo Bacci of TP Formula on pole.
