After successful tests in GP2 and Champ Car last autumn, F3 race winner Guillaume Moreau has finally opted for World Series by Renault. He signed a deal to race for the Belgian KTR team.

"KTR team principal Kurt Mollekens first contacted me one year ago, at the end of my first F3 season" Moreau said. "I think KTR is a competitive and very experienced team. I have never driven a "3.5" car before, but after my GP2 and Champ Car tests, Kurt is confident. I know that I can do a good job with a powerful car like the FR3.5. I quickly adapted to left-foot braking. Despite missing 6 post-season test-days, I am sure that I will be quickly in the pace and able to fight against other F3 graduates, like Sebastian Vettel and Giedo Van der Garde. They are third drivers in Formula 1, they will be watched so I have to beat them!"

Kurt Mollekens and his new driver already have things in common : the former was born on March 8th, 1973, and the latter on March 8th, 1983 ! Both of them also won an important F3 race at Zandvoort. Kurt Mollekens took the Masters honours in 1996, and Guillaume Moreau won one of the Dutch rounds of the F3 Euro Series 9 years later, ahead of. Sebastian Vettel.

Guillaume became a member of the FFSA (French Motorsport authority) National Team at the end of 2005. He recently took part in a training program in Dubaï with the other young drivers of the team. "I wish to thank the FFSA and our captain Jean Alesi for their support. I'll do my very best to raise the country flag in the World Series."

The driver from Limoges has never raced at Budapest and Istanbul before, but he experienced the Nürburgring, Barcelona, Monaco and Spa as an F3 driver, and took a podium finish at the Belgian venue in 2005. He also secured podium positions at Monza, Donington and Magny-Cours in his Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup days.

Guillaume is looking forward to testing his 425 hp-World Series car at Barcelona on March 14th and 15th, and to discovering his new team and environment.
