Tio Ellinas will switch to Formula Renault 3.5 in 2015, having secured a drive with the Strakka Racing team.
The 23-year-old Cypriot had a partial racing programme in 2014, competing in eight GP2 races in 2014 with MP Motorsport.
He tested for Strakka, Pons Racing and Tech 1 in FR3.5 at the end of last year before landing a full-time drive with Strakka.
Ellinas has also signed a long-term contract with Strakka's driver management division.
"We worked really well at the young driver test and it was clear that Strakka could engineer a quick car in both the wet and dry," said Ellinas.
"Strakka is the complete package with the best support and equipment, on and off the track."
Ellinas will partner Swedish driver Gustav Malja at the Silverstone-based team.
"In Tio, we see a driver with fantastic natural talent and the ability to work hard and learn," said Strakka boss Dan Walmsley. "Managing him, means that we can unleash and guide the potential he obviously has."
"Gustav and Tio gives us a great line up and we are extremely confident we can improve on our Championship standings from last year."
