Buller and Zeta Corse bag 6th place and rookie success in Spielberg

The second day of the Spielberg F.Renault 3.5 round was a very positive one for Zeta Corse: William Buller, at his second event with the team after the fruitful Moscow outing, boasted another great performance crossing the line in sixth place as well as bagging a deserved win in the special rookie classification.

Being quicker than his portuguese rival Will managed to overtake him for 6th place with just a few laps to go, then taking the flag with a reassuring gap.

Riccardo Agostini, at his first race weekend in the series, had qualified in P23 in the morning, suffering from the same tyre emperature issues experienced by Buller.

The early part of his race was good, with a quick start and a good pace that allowed him to climb back to P17, but then while he was fighting with Laine he went wide at Turn 1 and spun, retiring from the race on lap 8. Zeta Corse is now at work to prepare the cars for tomorrow’s Qualifying and Race 2.

Will Buller (Q1 – P12; R1 – P6): After this morning's qualifying we knew that we had been too conservative in terms of tyre usage, and for the race we opted for a more aggressive approach. It paid dividends immediately, as after a good start I managed to lap on the same pace with guys that until that point had been quicker than me.

I had a good fight with Da Costa, I made as much pressure as I could and in the end he ran wide, allowing me to pass. I'm also glad that I climbed on the rookie podium again, on the highest step this time!".

Riccardo Agostini (Q1 – P23; R1 – DNF): "Despite not being used to the hand-operated clutch my getaway was good, and so was my race pace. The car's behaviour was much better compared to this morning, but racing in the middle of the pack is never easy, especially in such a competitive scenario as F.Renault 3.5.

Making mistakes is easier when you're fighting all the time and that's what happened when I spun. I had just made a good pass on Lane but at the exit of turn 1 I went wide and had no grip at all. Anyway today I gathered some useful experience, I'll try to make the most of it tomorrow".
