WALKER AIMS TO ROUND OFF SEASON IN STYLE
Jersey, UK -- The final rounds of the 2008 World Series by Renault take place next weekend in Barcelona; it's a circuit that James Walker loves so the Jersey racer will be out to close the season in style at the Circuit de Catalunya.
James last drove at the Barcelona track, which is the home of the Spanish Grand Prix, earlier this year during an official Renault test. He quickly got to grips with the new car -- this was his first extended run in the '08 race car -- especially in wet conditions where he was in the top two.
During last year's Barcelona race James had to contend with problems during qualifying when his engine kept cutting out but he pulled it all together and finished the weekend, and the 2007 season, with a top ten finish. This year he is out to get two top finishes in order to end the 2008 season on a high.
"I can't believe that the season has nearly come to an end already," said James. "Barcelona is always a great place to have the last race, as it has a great end-of-season atmosphere. The team and I are concentrating more than ever to go out on a high. The pressure is still as high as at all the previous rounds so we'll be pushing for results until the very end."
The penultimate race of the season gets underway on Saturday 18 October at the Circuit de Catalunya; with the final race of 2008 running the following day.
