Edoardo Piscopo fights bad luck in-style at Spa-Francorchamps

The fascinating Spa-Francorchamps racetrack hosted the third round of the Formula Two series last weekend. Once again, the race brought a lot of tough challenges to Edoardo Piscopo. The Italian racer suffered from serious troubles with brake balancing on the first session of Qualifying, while engine issues added to the toll shortly after, preventing him from being as fast as the other rivals on the tracks straights. On Qualifying 1, Piscopo couldn't manage better than 19th. Then, on Qualifying 2, things went even worse, as a fuel pump problem left him with no laps on the timesheets, dead last on the grid for Race 2.

On Race 1, Edoardo completed one of his trademark recoveries, just like happened at Brno. Giving proof of class and strength, he moved up to 8th and saved the day with a points finish. In the second race, he elected to save one set of tires for the forthcoming round at Brands Hatch, but nonetheless managed to strike back from 24th to 14th.

"Now I expect the story to change - said Piscopo - the series has really good basis, but there's no way I have to find myself at the back on each race due to technical issues. The championship itself is really competitive and entertaining, but it's frustrating to have races ruined for something that's not my fault. I have to keep pushing: at least I showed I can pass..."
