Jaguar Racing has announced that Swedish F3000 driver Bjorn Wirdheim will test for the team at Valencia, Spain this week.

The 24-year-old, who won the F3000 championship for Arden in 2003, will run for Jaguar Racing on the Wednesday of the three-day test, which begins on Tuesday, January 27.

With Jaguar Racing set to run a third car on the Friday of grand prix weekends, Wirdheim is one of many drivers the team is looking at for a testing role within the team. Current FIA regulations state that drivers who have competed in six grands prix or more over the past two years may not test on a Friday.

Wirdheim is no stranger to Formula One, having tested for both Jordan and BAR in 2003.
