In preparation for the second round of the 2004 FIA Formula One World Championship, the Malaysian Grand Prix, the BMW WilliamsF1 Team today concluded a three day test at Valencia.

The team's official test drivers, Marc Gené and Antonio Pizzonia, shared testing duties with Marc running the FW26 on Wednesday and Thursday and Antonio taking over for the final day on Friday.

Changeable conditions at the Spanish track allowed the team to perform both wet and dry weather tyre testing with Michelin, an ideal preparation for conditions typical at the Sepang circuit where high temperatures and heavy downpours are commonplace.

General set-up work, with particular attention focused on traction control routines and suspension testing, completed the schedule. Over the course of the three days, the drivers completed a total of 960 kilometers.

Sam Michael (Chief Operations Engineer, WilliamsF1):

"Today we finished testing in Valencia with Antonio driving a wet test for our tyre partner, Michelin. A couple of good improvements were found which we are looking forward to taking with us to Malaysia."

The BMW WilliamsF1 Team will travel to Paul Ricard, France, in two weeks time for a three day test commencing on Wednesday 24th March.
