BMW WilliamsF1 Team Principal Frank Williams talks about the Hungarian Grand Prix

"The Hungarian Grand Prix produced a rewarding result for the team, with both cars crossing the line in points-paying positions."

"A high downforce circuit, with a lack of overtaking opportunities due to the tight and twisty nature of the circuit, the Hungaroring is one of the most challenging tracks on the calendar. Precision set-up, a well considered strategy and the correct tyre choice are therefore all essential elements for a successful result."

"In Hungary, the team elected to run the softer compound tyre, which proved the better of the two choices for us, and to go for a three stop pit strategy."

"In the race, both drivers benefited from the first corner incident, which promoted Nick to 8th from 12th and Mark from 16th to 12th. This laid a solid foundation for our strategy to work and, ultimately, delivered 6th and 7th place finishes to Nick and Mark, respectively."

"The team now has a well deserved three week break from the race track but the work at the factory will continue with relentless speed to carry the cars competitively into the closing stages of the season. The hard work everyone is putting in at the factory is a testament to the team's resolve and determination to fight back to the top."
