WilliamsF1 today confirmed details of a restructuring of its senior management and the creation of a Senior Management Group (SMG) which will be the key decision-making forum within the organisation.

The SMG is intended to enhance performance throughout WilliamsF1 through a more focused allocation of responsibilities, leading to improved target setting and deliverability.

The SMG will include:

Frank Williams - Team Principal
Patrick Head - Director of Engineering
Chris Chapple - Chief Executive Officer
Sam Michael - Technical Director
Alex Burns - Chief Operating Officer
Jim Wright - Head of Marketing
John Healey - Head of Legal Services

Frank Williams and Patrick Head will retain overall responsibility for strategy, principal relationships and all key operating and financial decisions.

The SMG is intended to facilitate this through the allocation of operating responsibilities among the senior management of the company, allowing Frank and Patrick to focus more of their time on the key strategic issues and targets upon which the success of WilliamsF1 depends.

In relation to today's announcement, Frank Williams commented, "This is a positive step which reflects the long term success, rapid growth and increased complexity of both WilliamsF1 and Formula One in general."

"I am confident that the changes we are announcing today will improve overall performance within WilliamsF1 and will allow Patrick and myself to spend more of our time focused on ensuring we deliver key targets upon which the success of the company depends."
