Nico Hulkenberg opened the team's four day test in Jerez this week. Run under wet conditions for the majority of the day, Nico and the team worked through a programme of set-up work and systems checks, while also carrying out some race starts practice.

Nico closed the session in P3 with a 1:22.243 having covered 118 laps of the 4.428km Spanish track, the highest number of all the teams.

Sam Michael, Technical Director: After one run in the morning on old dry tyres, the remainder of the day was wet. We completed our programme in terms of mileage and spent the day evaluating set-up on the intermediate and full wet tyres. We also practiced race starts and carried out systems checks. Within those checks, Nico forced sensor shutdowns onboard the car in order to ensure it responds correctly in the event that this is ever required during a race. We finished the day without having experienced any mechanical problems.

Nico Hulkenberg: We managed just one short stint with the dry tyres before having to change onto intermediates and then wets, but we were still able to test several things we had planned and everything worked well. I felt comfortable in the rain, and it was a positive testing day for us."
