On the second day of testing at Jerez de la Frontera, BMW WilliamsF1 Team drivers Mark Webber and Nick Heidfeld continued to set the pace. On the second day of testing in 2005, conditions at Jerez de la Frontera were ideal, with blue skies, little wind, and temperatures reaching 17°C.

BMW WilliamsF1 Team race driver, Mark Webber, concentrated on tyre testing, evaluating various compounds for the team's tyre partner, Michelin, as well testing brake duct configurations on the interim WilliamsF1 BMW FW26. The Australian completed 115 laps, setting the best time of the day, 1:16.558 minutes.

Nick Heidfeld, who is under consideration for the second race seat in 2005, focussed on set-up work. The German completed 80 laps, setting a best time of 1:16.745 minutes.

Tim Newton (Test Team Manager, WilliamsF1):

"We've had another very productive day at Jerez, with Mark and Nick setting the quickest times of the session in the interim FW26s. The drivers concentrated on different programmes today - Mark focussed on brake testing, in particular, brake ducts. He also conducted some tyre testing and systems checks. Nick, meanwhile, concentrated on set-up work."

Testing continues at Jerez tomorrow, when Antonio Pizzonia will join Mark Webber.
