Nick Heidfeld joined BMW WilliamsF1 Team driver, Mark Webber, for the second day of testing at the 'Jerez Circuit', where weather conditions proved difficult.

They say that the "rain in Spain falls mainly on the plain" - and that was certainly the case today, with the weather proving unpredictable. Although temperatures reached 17°C, there were rain showers throughout the day, which compromised the planned programme.

Mark completed the most laps today (106), setting a personal best time of 1:20.163 minutes, which put him third fastest. The Australian was joined by Nick Heidfeld, who despite the conditions gave a good account of himself as he familiarised himself with the interim WilliamsF1 BMW FW26. The German, who focussed on traction control evaluations, completed 101 laps, posting a best time of 1:22.728 minutes.

Sam Michael (Technical Director, WilliamsF1):

"Even though the weather was mainly wet today, we completed a combined total of 917kms on the two FW26C interim cars, which is a good achievement at such an early stage with the new rear end."

"Mark worked on wet tyre testing for Michelin, electronics and reliability running. He was joined today by Nick Heidfeld who did a great job in the other car and also did some work on traction control. Tomorrow, Antonio is driving again with Nick."
