The BMW WilliamsF1 Team today confirmed that long term sponsor, Petrobras, has extended its commercial partnership with the team.

Petrobras, the Brazilian petroleum company, has been a long term partner of WilliamsF1 and the BMW WilliamsF1 Team, with a commercial relationship extending into its seventh consecutive season.

In a new phase of the relationship, Petrobras branding will be visible on the side pod tops of the WilliamsF1 BMW FW26s today in the first practice sessions for the Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal.

The Formula One programme with the BMW WilliamsF1 Team has also provided an R&D and marketing platform in the creation of Petrobras' high performance road car fuel, Podium.

After a successful roll-out in Brazil in 2002, Podium was launched on Petrobras' Argentinean forecourts this week at a press event held at the Oscar Gálvez race track in Buenos Aires with Juan Pablo Montoya.

To support the growth of Petrobras' premium consumer fuel, the Podium brand will be visible on the wing mirrors of the FW26, underlining the performance gains achieved by Petrobras' blending technologies for both Formula One and production car applications.
