In the latest bout of what seems the most heated battle so far this year, on and off track, Jacques Villeneuve has hit back at Jenson Button after the Englishman criticized him for the Australian pit-stop blunder. A radio problem was the cause, according to BAR, but Button cast doubt on the explanation, hinting that Villeneuve did it deliberately.

Villeneuve retaliated by saying Button was 'weak': "I was just highly, highly disappointed to be blasted by my team-mate in the media when coming out of the car he was all smiley and shaking hands and everything," the Canadian told BBC radio. "I found that a little bit weak, but I guess that's what I have to cope with now -- a weak team-mate."

"I think it is very important for a driver to be self-critical before he starts blaming everybody else. If you spend your career thinking about what might have been then you never achieve anything and that is a little bit what has been happening through Jenson's career."

Villeneuve also criticized BAR for not keeping a lid on the feud: "There will not be a kiss and make-up, but we will talk, because that cannot go on," he said. "But it is also the team's job to make sure that stuff like that doesn't go on in press releases, so the marketing and media department of the team was not up to standard by allowing that to happen."

Considering Villeneuve's own comments about Button in the media, there's a pot, a kettle and particular dark shade of colour that can be applied to that comment.
