The car will be rebuilt around the spare tub overnight, and the team has been granted permission to re-scrutineer it on Sunday morning.
The pitlane start also gives the team the chance to make any other changes it might want to the car.
That could include a move towards a wet set-up, or changes that will help Verstappen overtake.
"Apparently tomorrow there is some rain is expected," said the Dutchman. "That would be nice. And in the end we have a great car, so the pace is really good.
"Hopefully we have a good stint in the beginning and at the end. Definitely we can get past some cars for sure."
Asked by Motorsport.com if felt he had a car he could overtake with, he said: "I will definitely try! Like I said before, the car is really good.
"It's mainly the top four guys of course, and you have the Ferraris. After that there is quite a big pace delta, and hopefully we can take advantage of that.
"Every track where you crash, it's of course a big price to pay. Maybe here a little bit more, but maybe there is some rain, we'll see what happens."
Verstappen believes he would have qualified in the first two rows had he not crashed.
"Daniel did a great lap. It's very positive for the team as well, the new engine seems to work pretty well, good power, very good driveability, and around this track that is very important.
"I would be very happy if I could qualify top four."
