WHAT AN AMAZING DAY IS GOING TO BE LIVED BY THE FIRST THREE TOP DRIVERS OF THE ITALIAN FORMULA 3 CHAMPIONSHIP.
THE NEXT 26TH OF NOVEMBER THEY WILL BE AT THE WHEEL OF THE FERRARI F2008 FOR A WHOLE TEST DAY!
Mirko Bortolotti, Edoardo Piscopo and Salvatore Cicatelli are looking forward that date with eargerness and emotion. It won't be long to 26th of November when the first three top drivers of the 2008 Italian Formula 3 Championship will be on the track of Fiorano for a whole test day at the wheel of the Ferrari F2008, the car that gave to Maranello's House the eighth Manufacturers title in the last ten years of the World Formula 1 Championship.
Thanks to the Scuderia Ferrari and ACI-CSAI, these three major players of the last season of Formula 3, the prestigious Italian Championship powered by Fiat Powertrain Technologies Racing (FPT Racing) by the 420F3 (2.0 16V) engine, are ready to live a great day. For this special opportunity Bortolotti, Piscopo and Cicatelli have already placed in a specific approach program. During last weeks, the three young drivers met the technicians of the Squadra Corse Ferrari and played a long session of virtual driving with the simulator of the Centro Ricerche Fiat in Turin, assisted by Andrea Bertolini, Ferrari test driver.
If they are already able to test the Formula 1's driving along the circuit of Jerez in the screens of the simulator, in a few days the three boys will really have to sit at the wheel of the Ferrari F2008 and drive for all the day along the 3 km track of Fiorano. A very tough circuit with almost 1,7 km of curves and 1,3 km of straight parts where the main one is 700 meters long, therefore 220 m. shorter than the line between the Variante Ascari and the Parabolica in Monza.
The test day organized by the Scuderia Ferrari and ACI-CSAI will start at 10 am on Wednesday, 26th November, with the three Italian young talents at the wheel of the Ferrari Formula 1 and assisted by the Ferrari Squadra Corse. At 5 pm, the day will end with a press conference held at the Fiorano circuit in the presence of Piero Ferrari, Ferrari Vice President and Luigi Macaluso, president of ACI-CSAI.
