McLaren and Jaguar continued at Valencia today where Kimi Raikkonen again topped the time sheets -- and broke the lap record. The Finn clocked a fastest of 1.10.937 in the McLaren MP4-17, four hundredths of a second quicker than the previous record. Raikkonen was working on qualifying set-up using softer Michelin tyres. McLaren tester Alex Wurz was second fastest, concentrating on long distance runs in the MP4-16B and was happy with the performance of the tyres.

Third was Jaguar's Pedro de la Rosa and team mate Eddie Irvine finished fourth. Both drivers were running the R3, testing revised aerodynamics and suspension. Jaguar were due to test at Valencia next week but have cancelled this in favour of testing the R3 at Silverstone.
