Manama, 1st March 2007: Fast and furious was the only phrase to describe a frantic final day of official Formula One testing at the Bahrain International Circuit. For many of the teams the day marked an end to their pre-season running and the last opportunity to put their newborn machinery to the test prior to the start of the season on March 18 at the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne.

For the fourth time in six days of testing it was Felipe Massa's Ferrari that topped the timesheets when the action stopped. His time was a blistering 1m 29.989s, unofficially shattering the three-year-old qualifying and race lap records set by Michael Schumacher in a 3.0-litre Ferrari at the inaugural Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix. The young Brazilian, who scored his first Grand Prix victory in front of his home crowd in the last race of 2006, clearly wishes to build on that momentum and keep himself ahead of new teammate Kimi R
