Two teams were on the test track on January 24th and neither of them experienced the best of weather conditions. Ferrari tried to continue its schedule at Vallelunga near Rome, while McLaren began a three-day programme at Valencia in Spain.

In rain and hail showers at Vallelunga Felipe Massa and Kimi Raikkonen had scant running. Massa managed 31 laps in the F2007 with a best time of 1:18.767 and Raikkonen did just 20 in the 248 F1, his best a 1:22.299. They will be back on track tomorrow and Ferrari has extended its test to include Friday.

For McLaren it was cold and windy at Valenica, where Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton were joined by tester Pedro de la Rosa to continue work on the MP4-22. Alonso was the quickest of the trio with a best time of 1:12.387. De la Rosa was just over three tenths down and Hamilton a further three tenths off the test driver.
