It seems that this week's scheduled test session at Barcelona may not go ahead as planned due to unsatisfactory track conditions. BAR, which launched the 007 at the circuit on Sunday, reported very low grip on the newly resurfaced track.

"The new track surface will not allow for a proper evaluation of the proposed test programme," said a statement from the team, which will now switch its test activities to Valencia. Sauber has also decided to test at Valencia this week and other teams might follow suit.

Testing continued at Jerez over the weekend where Michelin teams carried out wet weather work on an artificially dampened track. McLaren's Juan Pablo Montoya topped the times on Saturday with a 1:126.537.

He was followed by test drivers Ricardo Zonta (Toyota), Franck Montagny (Renault) and Enrique Bernoldi (BAR). On Sunday it was Montoya's teammate Kimi Raikkonen who was quickest, 1:25.235, with Zonta the only other driver on track.
