Lotus to miss Thursday running in Valencia
Lotus Chief Designer Mike Gascoyne has confirmed that following the power steering failure on Hekki Kovalinen's T128 earlier today, there is insufficient time for the Norfolk-based squad to get the car back to the UK in time for tomorrow's final day of running.
Looks like maybe no new parts until Friday," he announced on Twitter. "So tomorrow may just be further system checks and aero work with adjustable rear wing. Frustrating day today due to the problem with the power steering. Problem is mechanical and not hydraulic related."
The team will spend the day running systems checks and simulations tomorrow before hitting the track alone on Friday, having elected not to run the first day of the three-day test with their competitors.
