Perfect day on the Toro Rosso car

Sebastien Buemi today tested the Toro Rosso car on the Jerez circuit, in Spain. The weather was sunny and hot. Sebastien covered 88 laps of the 96 laps initially scheduled, a rear suspen- sion problem occured in the morning having cost an hour and half to be fixed. The rest of the day was busy following a heavy testing programme, which Sebastien went through without making any mistake. At the end of the day, he made a "long run" during which he did his best lap, although the track was not as quick as in the morning. The Toro Rosso engineers reckon that the afternoon conditions were approximately one second slower than the morning's, when Christian Klien (BMW Sauber, 1:19.537) and Sebastian Vettel (Red Bull, 1:19.878) have done their respective best laps.

Sebastien Buemi: "I am very happy, because everything went well today. I fulfilled all my team's expectations. From the very first laps, this morning, I noticed a rear suspension problem which was confirmed by the telemetry. In the afternoon, everything went well, and we modified several settings to improve the car. However, I did not want to take any unnecessary risk today."

Note: Sebastien will stay in Jerez and drive the Red Bull F1 car on Friday.
