Yokohama, Japan – October 9th, 2013: Triple Formula One World Champion and Infiniti Red Bull Racing driver Sebastian Vettel kicked off his Japanese Grand Prix weekend today by greeting thousands of adoring Japanese fans during a special event at the Infiniti and Nissan Japanese headquarters in Yokohama.

As part of a packed day which also included a visit to an amusement arcade in Shibuya for TV filming, Vettel’s visit culminated in the personal appearance where he spoke about his expectations for the Japanese Grand Prix and the year so far, answered questions from the audience and signed autographs.

In his role as Infiniti’s Director of Performance, The championship leader also held briefings with the Chief Vehicle Engineer of the Infiniti Q30 along with key members of the engineering team based in Yokohama, as he continues to work with them on development of this important new Infiniti model.

As was the case for similar events in 2011 and 2012, thousands of fans of the Infiniti Director of Performance again made the trek to Yokohama to see the 26-year-old German, many camping overnight to ensure they secured a prime position in the audience as Vettel took to the stage for an engaging and lively hour of chat.

Commenting on the event, Vettel said: “Meeting the fans here in Japan is a really special experience. I am always impressed by their passion for Formula One and the way they welcome me. It was a privilege to meet so many fans and spend time answering their questions. Everyone wished me success for the Japanese Grand Prix weekend, and of course I’ll be pushing hard to deliver a strong result.”
