Team SAUBER PETRONAS completed the second day of its three-day test at Valencia in Spain, with Nick Heidfeld setting the third fastest time of 1m14.112s, over the course of 47 laps. After an initial off, Felipe Massa recovered to post the fifth fastest time of 1m14.264s in his repaired car after covering 41 laps.

Willy Rampf (Technical Director): "Once again Nick and Felipe were working on different programmes today. Nick was conducting further aerodynamic evaluations, while Felipe focused on mechanical set-ups. Unfortunately he went off the road after only nine laps this morning, under braking for the last corner, and damaged the front suspension. But we were able to get him running again without losing too much time."

Nick Heidfeld: "I had another very good test today. The C21 is an extremely good car and driving it gives me great confidence in our ability to defend our fourth place in the constructors' championship this season. I stopped early today because the engine reached its mileage limit, and we spent the last 90 minutes analysing this morning's data."

Felipe Massa: "It was unfortunate that I had my 'off' this morning. I'd like to thank the team for the excellent job getting my car running again. In the circumstances, I'm happy with fifth fastest time".
