Team Sauber Petronas is testing near Valencia (Spain) for three days this week. Heinz-Harald Frentzen will drive the new Sauber Petronas C22 today and tomorrow before Nick Heidfeld takes over on Thursday.

Having set the fastest time this morning with 1m.14.953s Heinz-Harald Frentzen completed a total of 70 laps during the day with a fastest time of 1m.13.385s in the afternoon.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Vehicle Engineering):

"The weather in Valencia is beautiful with warm sun which would make for perfect conditions if it were not for the intermittent wind gusts which have interrupted our program. Our plan today was to work on mechanical set-up and we were quite happy with the progress in that direction. Unfortunately, the wind made it extremely difficult to carry out our aerodynamic development program. As the wind was intermittent rather than constant, we cannot fully rely upon data that we have acquired so far. We are hoping to have better conditions tomorrow. "

Heinz-Harald Frentzen:

"I was very pleased to set the fastest time this morning. We achieved a good mechanical set-up. Although the wind disturbed our progress today, the new Sauber Petronas C22 continued to give me a very good feeling. I stopped on my last lap this morning with an hydraulic leak but, apart from that, the car was very reliable. "
