Team SAUBER PETRONAS began a three-day test at Silverstone in Northamptonshire today to complete its preparations for next week's Canadian Grand Prix in Montreal, and to continue work prior to the British GP at the venue on July 7. Felipe Massa completed 16 laps and set the sixth fastest time of 1m 35.018s, and will continue the program tomorrow.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Race engineer):
"Our purpose at this test is to finalize aerodynamic configuration for Canada and then to do more running to optimize the car for Silverstone ready for the British GP. As the second T-car only arrived from Monaco last night we spent the morning preparing it to Montreal specification, which included some new aerodynamic parts to test, and Felipe was able to start running at 2.30pm."

Felipe Massa:
"It was good to be back in the cockpit so soon after Monaco, but irritating that the running I did was interrupted frequently by red flags as several people spun. The track was still wet so I ran on intermediate tires all through, and I became one of the spinners when I pushed a little bit too hard on my last lap without damaging the car. "
