During its third day of testing in Monza, Team Sauber Petronas continued its aerodynamic and brake programmes in readiness for next week's Italian Grand Prix.

Felipe Massa took over from Nick Heidfeld and will continue driving tomorrow Friday. He set the time of 1.25.474s and covered 80 laps. In the course of this running Felipe also covered the first race distance for the HANS, (Head and Neck Support) safety collar.

Jacky Eeckelaert (Head of Vehicle Engineering):

"This morning we carried on where Nick left us yesterday, but laptimes were less important to us as we tried a number of different aerodynamic configurations and did some further work to optimize our traction control. This afternoon Felipe Massa covered a race distance, in which the car was completely reliable, as well as carrying out a tire test program for Bridgestone."

Felipe Massa:

"I really like driving at Monza. It's a very fast track and today I regularly reached speeds of 350 kilometers an hour. This is an important test for Team Sauber Petronas and I am pleased with the car's reliability today. I completed a full race distance during which I was wearing the HANS system. I am very happy with the way we have adjusted it now to suit me and felt completely comfortable with it. The team plans to race it for both of us this week-end."
