The Mild Seven Renault F1 Team began today a two-day test session at the Silverstone circuit, the first one since the beginning of the Formula One season. The Team will run just one R23 with the test driver Allan McNish.

This morning, Allan focused on car set up working also on a tyre programme for Michelin, while in the afternoon, he did some suspension development. He ran a total amount of 68 laps (350 Km).

Mike Gascoyne, Technical director:

"It's very enjoyable to be testing again. It's the first session of our limited 20 days of testing allowed by the Heathrow agreement. Today we have accomplished a full day programme: we ran a development engine which, according to Allan's debrief, made a relevant improvement in performance."

"We also conducted, with a very positive result, a suspension development programme and finally, we did tyre evaluation with Michelin in preparation for next week's Spanish Grand Prix. We will continue tomorrow with a similar test programme."
